Over 20 years of experience working with students from a wide range of communities and school systems. 15 years experience training teachers, working collaboratively to integrate visual arts into their classroom practice. I am passionate about education as a creative act, and as a social relationship between student and teacher, and students with each other. My background in the arts and my love of spending time in the natural world provide inspiration and drive for the student-centered environment I foster.Developing the capacity for free play as part of our teaching repertoire is vital to the healthy development of children. Free play in the natural world is a perfect pairing, affording the opportunity for inquiry and problem solving, imagination, social interaction, contemplation and self regulation.
