This PD is for those providers who care specifically for Preschool children. Survey results from stakeholders, CCHCs, and instructors identified the topics covered in this course: physical activity, feeding, special health concerns, Child Care Health Consultants, safe sleep, toxins, supervision, injury prevention, and environments.

Learning Objectives

- Instruct early care and education professionals about selected health and safety topics for Preschool
children
- Demonstrate the benefits of collaborating with a Child Care Health Consultant to improve health and
safety practices
- Apply Caring for Our Children, 3rd Ed. recommendations to care for children with special health care
needs
- Describe health and safety resources for early childhood education professionals to use in their work
with children
- Collaborate with other health and safety instructors to enhance expertise
